What's Included in the Tour
Here is a list of items included on all Mountain Bike Tours:

  • -New KHS Bike, high quality, lightweight aluminum bike with fenders, rack and water bottle cage. 
  • - Helmet for each participant.
  • - Choice of 2, 24 ounce sports drink or water.
Restrictions
Closed toe shoes and shorts required.  Light-weight shirt and sunscreen are recommended. Other restrictions include:
  • -Minimum number of participants: 2
  • -Maximum number of participants: 6
  • -No consumption of alcohol during ride or biking under the influence.
  • -Minimum age with parent or guardian: 14
  • -Minimum age without parent/guardian: 18
  • -No maximum age.
  • -Rides require strong endurance and physical fitness.  More advanced rides require experienced bike handling and technical skills.. 
    Tour Logistics
  • -Minimum of 1 guide per 7 participants
  • -Guides carry extra water, sunscreen, basic first aid supplies and basic bicycle repair tools and supplies.



TOUR DESCRIPTION:
All tours begin at sea level and climb through the rainforest on paved and unpaved roads and single track.  All tours travel parts of Scenic Road and return to sea level.

DURATION, DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:
Various option between 2 to 6 hours and 12 to 25 miles round-trip.  Steep terrain, long climbs and descents, rolling hills and technical single track on some rides.  6 hour tour includes lunch and additional sports drink.

TOUR COST:
$45 for the entire 2-3 hour tour
$40 for hotel staff, seniors, children under 18 and military
$100 for 6 hour tour which includes lunch


TOUR LOGISTICS:
Tours begin and end at the shop.  Experienced mountain bike guides will lead tour and adjust pace, intensity and tail choice based on the participants’ capabilities, performance and desires.   The full day (6 hour) tour includes lunch at one of 2 restaurants and additional sports drink purchased along the route.

Guides carry extra water, sunscreen, basic first aid supplies and basic bicycle repair tools and supplies.


MEETING POINT FOR TOURS:
Participants meet guide at Freedom City Cycles bike shop, ½ block inland from the Frederiksted Pier. Appropriately sized bikes, helmets and sports drinks are provided followed by an operational and safety briefing (10 to 15 minutes). Guide will lead participants to Fort Frederik Park (100 meters away) and begin the tour.
